Our project was a side walkway, stamp-finished backyard patio, HVAC unit pad, and a few other items. We chose Ideal from among 5 other bids - perfect balance of quality and price, and the proposal was detailed and transparent. Eddy came out twice during the bid process, and asked lots of questions to ensure he fully understood our idea. He was knowledgeable about our soil conditions in our area, and included important quality features like dowel connections to the house foundation to prevent patio float. He was honest about timelines and scope of work (how long until they could start, what they will/won't do). He also checked in with us about permits and HOA restrictions. The final contract also included several due-diligence checklists to be sure homeowners had done their homework before signing (verifying contractor insurance/license, understanding CA law for work done, terms of change orders and cancellations, etc.). Eddy and Ideal were hands-down the most thorough in this front-end work, and gave us a ton of confidence in right from the start.
Communication was excellent throughout - returned emails promptly, setup/revised the contract quickly, and coordinated the project milestones well in advance. For grading and form setting, the team arrived promptly, was polite, and asked lots of questions to confirm the design was according to plan. Nice courtesies too - relocated three landscape drain pipes, consulted on the aesthetic location option for control joints, etc. Pour day was seamless, quick, and started promptly. In addition to good work, the team was careful and courteous all around. They tarped the driveway (to protect against concrete spills), gently removed/replaced fence panels to access the yard, and left the project area cleaner than when they started. Costs came in *exactly* as bid, no surprises or overruns. Two days later the forms were gone and we're left with a beautiful project!

We had a concrete project of a large front porch and walkways which were poorly done by the home builder and the old concrete was cracked, uneven and looked terrible. Ideal answered my call and set an appointment to estimate our concrete project. Ideal showed up right on time and discussed my needs and offered many good ideas as to how the job should be done correctly in expansive soil. New concrete should have proper preparation, depth, and with an adequate sub-base and reinforcement to reduce cracks. Ideal did a fantastic job; proper dig-out and sub-base, great forming, good pour and great finishing resulting in a beautiful front porch and walkways. Control joints were decoratively placed and are clean and straight. We are so happy! They were very experienced and knowledgable concrete workers. Did beautiful and professional concrete finishing. On time and performed very well with excellent manners. Good cleanup and no loud music playing. We definitely recommend Ideal Concrete to those needing professional solutions to challenging concrete jobs at a fair price. It is very hard work to do it right. Ideal Concrete showed up and began breaking up our old, cracked, and thin concrete driveway. It had to be dug out deeper and all surplus material was hauled out. Ideal laid in rebar to reinforce concrete and did a great job in pouring and finishing my new driveway. “For starters, as a custom home builders’ daughter, this was no easy task for me to find someone whom I felt confident in and finding someone that paid attention to detail too! My father was very picky and taught me a lot growing up, so I knew the basics and I came across Eddie, owner of Ideal Concrete. I had an eroding driveway that just looked awful and with the whole landscape re-do, I had a vision of expanding my driveway from corner to corner, not just the width of the garage door, and adjoining walk way, an extended front porch with a larger section jutting out into a curved area. Not only did Eddie and his team surpass my expectations, I will be calling on him again for more work to the side of garage for new sidewalk and backyard walkways. His crew, especially Lucky, did me the big favor of laying underground drainage pipe from the downspout off one corner of garage so I can have optimal drainage extending out towards the street, and Lucky also laid sprinkler pipe for me so I can easily attach soaker hose to spigot for the side driveway watering of my plants. I have had to drag a hose over to that side for the past 17yrs, now I'm thrilled!! I can just hook up to sprinkler line and water. Every measurement was spot on (I measured it too lol). Communication was excellent, Eddie answered all my questions. His whole crew was polite and paid attention, not overly messy, and asked my wants and to check for my approval on certain stages. Very fair pricing, as I had a few quotes that were much higher, with good recommendations, but the delayed responses (no phone call back etc.) it wasn't that difficult to decide on Eddie.
